Maybe you are feeling short on attention or short on time. Our short psalm this week is Psalm 70.
Make haste, O God, to deliver me! O Lord, make haste to help me! (verse 1, ESV)
Sometimes it may feel like it is taking FOREVER for God to act. In our timeline, we want things done yesterday especially, if there is any kind of suffering involved. When have you struggled with waiting on God?
Let them be put to shame and confusion who seek my life! Let them be turned back and brought to dishonor who delight in my hurt! Let them turn back because of their shame who say, “Aha, Aha!”. (verses 2-3, ESV)
We want God to stop those that are acting against us, but what if there are times when we’re the ones who should be stopped? How quick are we at pointing the finger at others?
May all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you! May those who love your salvation say evermore, “God is great!” (verse 4 ESV)
If we look at the world, we may become frustrated or impatient, but if we look to God, we have reason to be glad and rejoice. This world will never be perfect. People will never be perfect. That is until Jesus returns.
But I am poor and needy; hasten to me, O God! You are my help and my deliverer; O Lord, do not delay! (verse 5 ESV)
Our only true hope is in God, and His timing is perfect. He is also much more patient. He will sustain us through our difficulties. We pray come Lord Jesus.
