Pastor Matheny was born and raised in Evansville, Indiana. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Indiana University in 2011. In May of 2012, he married his beautiful wife, Laura, and, together, they moved to St. Louis, Missouri where he began attending the seminary. In 2014, they welcomed the birth of their first son, Elijah. In August of the same year, they moved to Garden City, New York where Pastor Matheny served his vicarage. While in New York, their daughter, Lillian was born. They returned to St. Louis for Pastor’s final year in seminary. He graduated with his Master’s degree in Divinity in May of 2016, was ordained and installed at Our Savior’s in July and has enjoyed serving as Associate Pastor, and now serves as our Senior Pastor since April 14, 2024. He and his wife welcomed their second son, Jesse, on October 9, 2016, their third son, Henry, on August 6, 2018, and their fourth son, Lewis, on January 12, 2020. In his spare time, Pastor Matheny enjoys cycling, reading, and spending time with family.
