Lent is the season of the Church year where we endeavor to intentionally take up our crosses and follow Jesus. Our walk with the Lord takes on an extra layer of intensity as we commit ourselves to intentional prayer, fasting, and gathering around God’s Word. We welcome you to come prepare with us. This year we will continue to refresh our understanding of our Lutheran faith by discussing the Apostle’s Creed in the Small Catechism. We will hear again who our God is and what He has done and be reminded what this creed means and why it is so important to our lives as Christians.
This year we will also add an additional opportunity for private confession and absolution during the season of Lent. For each of our Wednesday services Pastor Matheny will be in the sanctuary 30 minutes prior to the service, seated in the chancel with the doors closed. Anyone desiring to confess their sins and receive God’s forgiveness may enter the sanctuary, approach the chancel, and receive the sacrament prior to the service. The doors will be opened for the whole congregation to enter 5 minutes prior to the start of the service. If you have any questions, please speak with Pastor Matheny.
