Title: |
Historian |
Who: | Anyone |
When: | On your own schedule |
Where: | Somewhat at the church but also at home if you would like. |
How Long: | We would prefer a 12-month appointment by the church council although “the” historian could certainly have numerous assistants who help as they are able. |
What: | First, we need to collect historial information already available and see that it is preserved in a centralized, safe place at the church. Next, existing historical information should be summarized in a history with source documentation, pictures, etc. This information could be made available online by typing or scanning documents and photos. Finally, ongoing procedures need to be set up to ensure that the church’s historical record continues to grow as time passes. Annual reports, newpaper articles, special publications, records of official acts, and so on should be kept perpetually. |
